Ongoing Employee Protection Cases
WLF is currently litigating several wage-and-hour class action and PAGA representative action cases on behalf of employees across a range of industries, including on behalf of farm workers, retail store clerks, restaurant staff, factory workers, nursing and hospice care workers, janitors and hotel workers, construction workers, and security guards.
WLF is also actively litigating claims on behalf of employees who have been discriminated against, harassed, and/or terminated based on age, sexual orientation, disability, or because they complained about what they reasonably believed was unlawful conduct by their employer.
Ongoing Consumer Protection Cases
Banks, et al. v. R.C. Bigelow, Inc.
On July 31, 2023, the Court certified a class of consumers who purchased certain Bigelow tea products in California based on allegations that they were falsely and deceptively advertised as Made in the USA. A copy of the Court’s Class Certification Order can be viewed here.
After completing a six-day trial in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, on April 8, 2025, a unanimous jury returned a verdict finding that Defendant R.C. Bigelow violated the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, breached an express warranty, and committed fraud, awarding $2,360,744 in compensatory damages to the Class. Newton, et al. v. R.C. Bigelow, Inc.
On March 31, 2025, the Court certified a class of consumers who purchased certain Bigelow tea products in California based on allegations that they were falsely and deceptively advertised as Made in the USA. A copy of the Court’s Class Certification Order can be viewed here.
Rusoff, et al. v. The Happy Group, Inc.
On September 27, 2024, the Court certified a class of consumers who purchased certain Happy Egg products in California and New York based on allegations that they were falsely and deceptively advertised as pasture raised eggs. A copy of the Court’s Class Certification Order can be viewed here.
The case is currently on appeal before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
